1 dead and 1 injured in two separate shootings at South Carolina State University

A woman was killed and a man was injured in unrelated shootings at South Carolina State University on Saturday evening, according to state officials.

One person was killed and another was injured in two separate shootings at South Carolina State University on Saturday evening, according to state officials.

A woman was killed in one of the shootings and a man was injured in another, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said in a statement. The man is currently in the hospital.

Police did not identify either victim.

“The shootings are not believed to be connected at this time, however, SLED’s investigations are active and ongoing,” SLED said in the statement.
