Science groups, former astronauts urge Congress to reject cuts to NASA

Prominent science organizations and former NASA astronauts urged Congress in a letter Friday to reject the drastic cuts to NASA’s budget that the White House has proposed.

More than 20 space, science and educational organizations sent a letter to Congress on Friday saying that “draconian cuts” to NASA’s budget proposed by the White House would “directly undermine” the agency’s efforts to return astronauts to the moon, calling the proposal “destructive” and “short-sighted.”
