There have been no major breaks in the case in the months since Nancy Guthrie, 84, went missing from her home near Tucson, Arizona, in the early hours of Feb. 1. The FBI said earlier on July 1 that Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance continues to be investigated as a kidnapping for ransom case.

Savannah posted a video message July 27 on Instagram, pleading with the person who may have taken her mother to “do the right thing” and “tell us where to look for her.”

Nanos, who has been heading the investigation, spoke with NBC affiliate KVOA News 4 Tucson on July 27 after Savannah shared her most recent video. He stressed that Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has not become a cold case.

“We still have DNA that’s not just one lab or two labs,” Nanos said. “These are labs all across the country that are talking to one another about how best to look at what they have in front of them for DNA evidence. And, so I’m still positive we will resolve this case.”
