The Iowa City Police Department said in a statement that it had identified five victims injured in the attack. One of them was hospitalized in critical condition, while the four others had been stabilized at medical facilities, it said.
University of Iowa President Barbara Wilson said in a statement that three of the injured are students. Campus Safety said in an alert, "There are no indications any university students were the intended victims."
