The news comes just days after her family had shared the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star had suffered “a serious health setback.”
After battling a “severe infection, Castro-Arabejo was hospitalized,” her family said Thursday in an Instagram post. She underwent surgery and lost “most of her right leg.”
Castro-Arabejo, whose stage name comes from the Pokémon character Jigglypuff, first competed on Season 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” in 2012. She placed eighth but became a fan favorite for her humor and dance moves. She later returned to compete on “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Season 6 and finished in 12th place.
The reality-TV star served as a judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines” for three seasons and was expected to appear in the upcoming season of “Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale.”
