How Ukraine takes Russian prisoners with drones

Over 100 Russian soldiers surrendered to drones in the winter, a former Ukrainian official said. NBC News spoke with a unit conducting the operations.

KYIV, Ukraine — The 10 Russian soldiers hiding in leafy woods near Ukraine’s northeastern border didn’t notice the Ukrainian drone hovering nearby, watching. The Russians were preparing to assault Ukrainian positions a couple of miles away. The Ukrainians’ mission was to repel them and take their enemies prisoner.
