Lindsay Clancy defense attorney Kevin Reddington speaks out after mistrial, seeks pardon

Lindsay Clancy’s attorney spoke out for the first time Tuesday since her state murder trial ended in a mistrial, including calling on President Donald Trump to pardon his client.

Lindsay Clancy’s attorney spoke out for the first time Tuesday since her state murder trial ended in a mistrial, including calling on President Donald Trump to pardon his client.

“I’d like to say that perhaps Donald Trump, who felt compelled to speak out on this case. Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady. The type of person she is, what she has been through, and consider a pardon,” Kevin Reddington said Tuesday on “Good Morning America.”

The request in the wide-ranging interview about the high-profile case was unusual, considering the president can only pardon federal crimes. On Friday, Trump weighed in on the mistrial and said he had been following the case.

Reddington did not immediately respond to NBC News’ requests for comment. The White House referred to Trump’s previous comments about the case.

Clancy was charged in the strangulation deaths of her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months old — at their Massachusetts home in January 2023. She had thrown herself out of her bedroom window in a suicide attempt that left her paralyzed.
