Alec Baldwin said he and his brother are "fine" after he crashed the car he was driving in the Hamptons on Monday.
In a video posted to Instagram, Alec Baldwin said he was driving with his brother, Stephen Baldwin, in his wife's car in East Hampton, a town in Long Island, New York, when a large garbage truck caused him to veer off the road and hit a tree.
The East Hampton Police Department said in a statement that the incident that involved a white 2023 Range Rover occurred around 12:01 p.m. on Monday on State Route 27. Police confirmed Alec Baldwin's story, stating the car "struck a tree on the Eastbound shoulder of the roadway while avoiding the turning action of a 2020 Mack commercial truck, registered to National Waste Services out of Bay Shore, NY."
"There were no injuries reported or summons issued and the contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions," the statement said.
A representative for Alec Baldwin did not respond to a request for comment.
