‘Friendly fraud’ has more consumers disputing charges
Social media videos are teaching consumers how to dispute credit charges, and now some are abusing that process in a scam called “friendly fraud.” Disputed charges cost businesses $11 billion last year, and that number is expected to grow. NBC News’ Brian Cheung reports.
