Republicans feel increasingly upbeat about their chances in the midterms
GOP strategists who spoke to NBC News said they are less worried than they were a few months ago about the Iran war and rising prices hurting their party.
The conventional wisdom around this year’s midterm elections has been that Democrats think 2026 has the potential to be a blue wave and that Republicans quietly believe they may be right. But despite President Donald Trump’s continued unpopularity, a handful of GOP political wins have more Republicans feeling comfortable about their chances in November.
