Republican state party leaders grumble about the midterm convention

Event organizers said they believed a post-Labor Day convention would be the best way to reach people who don’t always pay attention to politics.

Next week, Republican officials and party faithful will gather in Dallas for the GOP’s first midterm convention. The idea came directly from President Donald Trump, who said it was a chance “to show the great things we have done.”
