Large fireball seen shooting across sky over Southeastern US

The American Meteor Society has described it as a bolide, a large and rare fireball that creates a sonic boom.

Video from drivers in these states show a flashing light in the sky quickly travelling downwards.

The American Meteor Society say there were more than 160 eyewitness accounts of the meteor or bolide.
