A chemical tank was blown into the air by the resulting explosion, Fire and Rescue NSW report, adding that it caused chunks of "fist-sized concrete blocks" to rain down on first responders.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries to their hands while tackling the New South Wales blaze, but no other injuries had been reported.
It was not known what caused the fire, which was expected to burn throughout Sunday.
