A person connected to last month's shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was taken into custody in Buffalo, law enforcement sources said Monday.
The U.S. Marshals Service and the New York Police Department were involved in apprehending a "person of interest," three sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.
Boyd was critically wounded early Nov. 16 near Seventh Avenue and West 38th Street, officials had said.
A few days after he was shot in the abdomen, Boyd posted on social media from his hospital bed saying he was "coming along."
Boyd had logged time with the Minnesota Vikings, the Houston Texans and the Arizona Cardinals before he signed with the Jets this season. But he has spent this entire campaign on the injured reserve list because of a shoulder injury.
