5,000 sailors and Marines from the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier are in Pattaya, Thailand, on their first break after a record-long deployment mostly spent supporting the Iran war.

PATTAYA, Thailand — After nine months at sea, the sailors and Marines of the USS Abraham Lincoln are trading their cargo pants and boots for shorts and flip-flops. The relief was palpable in the Thai resort city of Pattaya on Wednesday as service members disembarked for a night on the town.
