Princess Kate returns to work after completing cancer treatment
Princess Kate returned to light royal duties on Tuesday, in her first work engagement since announcing she had ended her cancer treatment last week.
LONDON — Kate, the Princess of Wales, held her first official engagement Tuesday since announcing last week that she had completed her cancer treatment.
Kate, wife of Prince William, the heir to the British throne, attended a private meeting at Windsor Castle, according to the Royal Circular, a daily briefing of royal activities published in the Times of London newspaper.
An entry from Tuesday reads: "The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years meeting at Windsor Castle.”
No pictures or details of the meeting were released by the palace. The Royal Foundation is the main philanthropic vehicle for William and Kate, supporting community groups that work on early years education, homelessness and conservation projects.
Kate said in a deeply personal video message last Monday: "Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."
