A 22-year-old man who was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting in Upper Pottsgrove Township, Pennsylvania has been identified by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

According to prosecutors, Glenwood Earl Pysher IV was shot and killed by an Upper Pottsgrove Township police officer after a 911 call reported a possible break-in at a home on Snyder Road at around 12:29 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.

According to officials, police found a man behind the house when they arrived. Officials said an “encounter” followed, and police shot and killed Pysher.

Erin Pysher, Glenwood’s mother, said that her son went to the wrong backyard by mistake and thought it was his friends house. She claimed that he was on the phone with friends for two minutes and then he was shot.

“It’s a small little error that it cost him his life. It should’ve never happened,” she said. “The cops should have never resorted to such force. He was unarmed. He wasn’t trying to do anything dangerous or malicious or hurt anybody. It escalated way too fast.”
