Trump recalls press dinner shooting, needles media in remarks at rescheduled event

Trump did not miss a chance to deliver a few barbs at his favorite targets at the make-up White House Correspondents Dinner, as he shared a stage with journalists winning awards for critical coverage of his administration.

After a gunman stormed the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in April, sparking its cancellation, President Donald Trump told reporters that while he had planned to rip the media in his speech that night, he would have a more muted address when they returned for a makeup gala.
