People's March brings thousands to streets of Washington DC

Thousands of people joined in on demonstrations as the United States prepares to inaugurate its new president.

The People's March - previously known as the Women's March - has taken place every year since 2017.

Demonstrators carried posters and placards on a number of issues from reproductive rights to climate change.
