Two people, including the husband of the victim, have been charged in connection with the death of a Fort Campbell soldier, officials said Saturday.
Sofia Rodas, 35, was charged with murder and tampering with evidence, and Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, 40, was charged with tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Pfc. Katia Dueñas-Aguilar, the Clarksville, Tennessee, police department announced in a social media statement.
Cruz was Dueñas-Aguilar's husband, authorities said. He and Rodas were already in federal custody on charges “not directly associated” with the investigation into Dueñas-Aguilar’s death, officials said.
Dueñas-Aguilar, 23, was found dead inside her Clarksville home on May 18, 2024.
She had been stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky since 2019, where she worked as an information technology specialist and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division's Combat Aviation Brigade.
