The woman convicted of brutally stabbing her sixth grade classmate to please the fictional horror character “Slender Man” was apprehended in Illinois after having left her Wisconsin group home, officials said.
Morgan Geyser, 22, cut off her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and left the group home Saturday night, the Madison Police Department said.
She was last seen in the area of Kroncke Drive around 8 p.m. local time with "an adult acquaintance," the department said in its initial statement.
Police said they were notified at 10:34 p.m. Sunday that Geyser was taken into custody in Illinois. No further information about her apprehension was released.
