The Buffalo Bills are mourning the death of defensive tackle Ed Oliver’s 2-year-old son, the team announced Saturday.
“On behalf of the entire Buffalo Bills organization, we want to publicly express our condolences to Ed Oliver and his family on the devastating loss of his son. It’s an unthinkable tragedy for any parent. We will continue to support Ed and his family as we all grieve this tragic loss,” team general manager Brandon Beane said in a statement Saturday.
The team did not disclose the cause of death.
In June, however, authorities in Harris County, Texas, responded to a report of a toddler drowning at an address that, according to property records, matches the area where Oliver has a listed address.
Deputies responded to a report of a toddler found unresponsive in a swimming pool on the 500 block of Lago Trace Drive, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said at the time.
