Actor Denzel Washington told Gayety that he had a kiss in the movie but that it was ultimately cut from the final print.
“I actually kissed the man in the film, but they took it, they cut it. I think they got chicken,” Washington, who plays a Roman businessman in the film, said in a video interview. “I kissed a guy full on the lips, and I guess they weren’t ready for that yet.”
“I killed him about five minutes later,” he added with a laugh. “It’s ‘Gladiator.’ It’s the kiss of death.”
It appears that it wasn’t the only kiss that was cut from the Ridley Scott-directed film.
