With cosmetic surgery chains growing, lawsuits reveal allegations of injuries and deaths
In partnership with KFF Health News, NBC News reviewed more than 200 lawsuits against cosmetic surgery chains which include allegations of disfiguring injuries and deaths. Patient Erin Schaeffer says after she went to Sono Bello for a tummy tuck and liposuction, she experienced unbearable pain and ended up with a serious infection. A doctor for Sono Bello told NBC News the company puts patients first, and has a number of methods for helping patients through pain. NBC News’ Erin McLaughlin reports.
