A hit and run at a children’s birthday party in Maryland on Saturday has left 11 people injured, according to police.

The vehicle “struck several individuals gathered in front of a residence” for the party, Bladensburg’s police department said in a statement early Sunday morning.

“​The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot after the collision and the identity of the driver is still under investigation as well as the cause of the collision,” the statement said.

The collision left two children, including one infant, in critical condition, Prince George’s Fire Department said Sunday. Seven other children and two adults suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, it said.

Police said the children ranged from 2 years to 9 years of age, and the victims were all transported to local hospitals.
