Federal regulators have announced the recall of nearly 1 million bottles of a prosecco brand sold under Costco’s Kirkland label, warning of a “laceration hazard.”
F&F Fine Wines International Inc., doing business as Ethica Wines, has recalled the bottles of Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday.
“The Prosecco bottles can break or shatter, posing a laceration hazard,” the CPSC said.
The wine distributor “has received ten reports of the bottles shattering or breaking, resulting in one laceration injury,” according to the CPSC’s Thursday announcement.
The Universal Product Code (UPC) of the affected prosecco bottles is 196633883742 and the Costco Item Number is 1879870.
