The teenager filed a legal petition to drop her father’s surname in May on her 18th birthday. A source close to the matter previously told NBC News that she hired and paid for her own lawyer.
Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday.
One of Shiloh’s siblings has also dropped the Pitt name. Zahara Marley Jolie did so, at least publicly, last year when she formally joined her sorority at Spelman College, Essence reported.
The news of Shiloh’s legal name change comes as the couple are divorcing.
