Used 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427/400 Convertible The C3 Corvette remains to this day, one of the most striking designs to ever come out of an American manufacturer and was a certified classic since its launch in 1968. Based on the Mako Shark II Concept car, the flowing “Coke Bottle” design lasted for nearly 15 years and elements of its unique shape were utilized in Corvette design for years to come. This 1969 Corvette Convertible was just about the pinnacle of performance in the era, fitted with the legendary L68 427ci V8 with tri-power carburetors. Finished in Monza Red with a white soft top, this 1969 Corvette Convertible is the one to have if you want to enjoy driving a classic American sports car. As a 1969, this Corvette retains the striking, slim chrome bumpers, and fender gills that were hallmarks of the design. A set of 15” Rallye wheels are wrapped in white lettered BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, and on the rear deck, a chrome luggage rack is fitted. Up front, the hood features a large power dome with a pair of intakes atop, and 427 badging just to let people know what is hiding beneath the hood. The red interior is in excellent condition and the epitome of sporty for the era. Open the driver’s door and slide into the high-back bucket seat and you are greeted by a deep-dish 3-spoke steering wheel. This wheel frames a pair of deeply hooded gauges, with the speedometer and tach right in front of you, as well as 5 auxiliary gauges situated in the center stack. A radio is fitted just below that and on the center console sits HVAC controls, as well as a chrome ball-topped shifter for the 4-speed manual gearbox. The interior was reconditioned between 2018 and 2019 by Capital Corvette & Classics which included new carpets, seat covers, refurbished gauges and new weather stripping. Sitting up front is a 427 ci V8 with a trio of two barrel carburetors sitting on top. Known as the L68 or 427/400, this was the most powerful engine offered in the Corvette at the time, save for the race-specification L88 which was notoriously not a streetable unit. The engine was rebuilt in 2012 by Terry Walters Precision Engines which included new valve springs, valve shims, pistons, head bolts and radiator fan shroud. This engine is backed by a stout Muncie 4-speed manual gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. Additional recommissioning work includes a rebuilt braking system in 2016 and between 2018 and 2019, the entire suspension was rebuilt. Under the care of Capital Corvette & Classics, new leaf springs, lower control arms and poly bushings were installed, along with new exhaust manifolds. In the past decade or so, considerable time and money has been spent getting this car dialed in to be an enjoyable, reliable driver. Both inside and out, the car presents extremely well and anybody would be proud to take this to a local show or cruise night, and with that tri-power 427, it will draw attention anywhere. After 1972, the Corvette’s shape changed dramatically and it could be said that it never bettered this design from the brand’s golden era. If you want to walk into the garage every day and see a true masterpiece of design, this is a great way to do it. Key Features * 427ci V8 w/Tri-Power * 400 Horsepower * Engine Rebuild in 2012 * New Valve Springs * New Valve Shims * New Valve Cover Sills * New Pistons * New Head Bolt Studs * New Radiator Fan Shroud * New Exhaust Manifolds * 4-Speed Manual Gearbox * New Leaf Springs, Poly Bushings and Lower Control Arms * Refinished Interior * Rallye Wheels * Pop-up Headlamps * Chrome Bumpers For more information on this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible or any of our 100+ High-Performance, Exotic and Special Interest cars always in stock, contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to drop by our 40,000+ sq ft of Indoor Showrooms in Bellevue, WA - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury, Exotic, High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
