Dallas Cowboys and star WR CeeDee Lamb agree to multiyear deal

The Dallas Cowboys and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have agreed to a multiyear deal, the team announced Monday.

The Dallas Cowboys and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have agreed to a multiyear deal, the team announced Monday. It is a four-year, $136 million contract, according to ESPN and NFL Network.

The deal makes Lamb, a three-time Pro Bowler, the second-highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The agreement includes $100 million in guaranteed money.

Lamb held out for all of training camp, as well as the Cowboys’ three preseason games, in hope of securing a new contract. He was entering the fifth-year option of the rookie deal he signed in 2017. He was the 17th pick in the first round of that year’s draft. He is now under contract through 2028.

The agreement ends what at times seemed to be a contentious negotiation between the two sides. Dallas owner and president Jerry Jones said earlier in August that he felt “no urgency” to get a deal done with Lamb, prompting Lamb to respond on X with an “lol.”

Lamb has been incredibly productive for the Cowboys, appearing in every game over the last four years. Last year, he posted career bests with 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns — the first two also being team records. In Dallas’ lone postseason game last season, he caught nine passes for 110 yards.
