Kate Middleton cancer update and new photo released, princess will attend Trooping the Colour
Kate, the Princess of Wales, said in a message Friday that she was making good progress but that her cancer treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.
LONDON — Kate, the Princess of Wales, is set to make her public return this weekend.
Kate, 42, said in a new written message Friday that she was still undergoing treatment for cancer but would attend the Trooping the Colour ceremony in London on Saturday, her first official public appearance since she revealed the diagnosis earlier this year.
The annual military ceremony celebrates the official birthday of King Charles III, who will also attend after his cancer diagnosis.
“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet," Kate said in Friday's message, which was posted on social media and accompanied by a new photo of the princess.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said “His Majesty is delighted that The Princess is able to attend tomorrow’s events, and is much looking forward to all elements of the day.”
