Mahomes Sr., 54, was arrested and charged in February and indicted in April.
Records in Smith County, Texas, showed he entered his plea Tuesday.
Mahomes Sr.’s attorney, Joseph D. Murphy, said in a statement: “Today, Mr. Mahomes entered a guilty plea in his case pursuant to a written plea agreement.”
“Our client is now living a sober life, and we believe that the steps he has taken to better his life helped us achieve a plea recommendation for probation,” Murphy said.
