“Fast and Furious” franchise actor Tyrese Gibson turned himself in to police Friday after his dogs allegedly killed another dog in his Atlanta neighborhood.
Authorities had issued an arrest warrant on Sept. 22 for Gibson, who is also an accomplished R&B singer. He was booked on a charge of cruelty to animals and released, jail records show.
According to court documents, Gibson’s four cane corso dogs were seen running through the neighborhood on Sept. 18 and killed a neighbor’s 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel.
The owner of the small-breed dog, named Henry, said he let him out to use the bathroom just after 10 p.m. and that when he came back five minutes later, the dog was in the driveway near the front door, according to court documents.
Henry had separated and broken ribs on his right side, blood on the left side of his rib cage, and light puncture marks on his stomach, as well as severe internal bleeding, according to a police report. Security camera video showed Gibson’s four cane corsos running toward Henry’s home, the report said.
