Multiple police officers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, have been placed on administrative leave and a district attorney’s office has dismissed more than 150 DWI cases as part of an ongoing federal investigation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico confirmed in a statement Tuesday that the Albuquerque police officers were placed on leave in connection with a federal investigation but would not comment further.

The U.S. attorney’s office said the case has involved federal law enforcement activity at three residences — one in Albuquerque, one in Edgewood and one in Los Lunas. There was also federal law enforcement activity at a law firm in Albuquerque, the office said. It is not clear whether the residences are the homes of the officers who have been placed on leave.

The dismissal of the more than 150 DWI cases is also linked to the federal investigation, the office said.

The office said that the investigation continues and that more developments are expected.
