The mantra that led her to the Olympic podium was lifted from the discography of her idol, Beyoncé.

"It's not the diamonds, it's not the pearls, I'm that girl," the song goes.

Chiles' Team USA leotard was bedazzled with just under a thousand pearls and 3,500 crystals when she won her third Olympic medal in Paris. Her floor routine was, naturally, underscored by Beyoncé.

"There needs to be the art side of it, that's why it's called artistic gymnastics," Chiles told NBC News after returning from Paris. “I like to entertain. I’ve been an entertainer ever since I was young ...  I think I’m an artist."
