Firstly, salt corrosion is significant due to the island's proximity to the ocean and the humidity, leading to accelerated rust and corrosion of the vehicle's metal components, which might not be immediately apparent but can cause long-term structural problems and compromise safety. Plus corrosion on or new any of the battery or charging components can lead to nightmares in the future. Secondly, abnormally low mileage raises suspicions of odometer tampering and doesn't give the full story about the daily use of the car. Even though the Hawaii cars have low mileage they still were driven daily. They just dont have an interstate system to rack up miles like everywhere else in the USA. Freeway miles are considered the easiest miles on a car because they are just cruising on smooth roads. On top of that the road's driven near most of the beaches in Hawaii, that the native Hawaiians go to regularly, are horrible. That breaks down all of the suspension and bushings throughout the whole vehicle. Dealers all buy these Hawaiian cars for 10-15% less (for good reasons) and that is how they can price them so well. They are getting those Hawaiian Tesla's cheaper for these reasons and we have experienced the nightmare Hawaii cars ourselves, and thats why we refuse to sell them to our clients. They are an easier sale because the price is lower but the cause headaches for client's long term thus causing a loss in the dealers long term customer sediment.
