Country singer Sundance Head, who won Season 11 of 'The Voice,' was injured by a stray bullet at his ranch in Texas on Friday, his agent said.
Head, 46, was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Tyler, where he was recovering after being stabilized, agent Trey Newman said in a statement.
The round lodged in a fatty area of Head's stomach, he said. No surgery was scheduled. "We are awaiting further details of this accident," Newman said.
Head's wife, Misty, said on Sundance's verified Facebook page that surgery would be unnecessary.
"Bullet went in above his navel and lodged into his abdominal wall missing all vital organs," she wrote. "He will not require surgery as they are not removing the bullet."
