A Texas mother was arrested in connection with the possible hot car deaths of her two young children, officials said Monday, after investigators allegedly found "inconsistencies" in the suspect's story.
Tiona Islar, 28, was booked on suspicion of causing serious bodily injury or death of a child, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
Islar called for help on Saturday afternoon and reported that her 6-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter were found unresponsive in a hot car in San Antonio, where temperatures reached the low 90s that day, the sheriff's office said.
Islar allegedly told deputies she last saw the children at about 8 a.m., before falling asleep for seven hours and then finding them in the hot car.
When first responders arrived, the children were in the house and could not be revived, according to the statement.
