Yulia Navalnaya has encouraged voters to form long queues at polling stations on election day.

CloseThe widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Yulia Navalnaya, has called for an election day protest against President Vladimir Putin.

In a video on YouTube, she said people should form long queues at polling stations on 17 March at midday, as part of the protest.

She also suggested voters should either tear up their ballot paper, or write 'Navalny'.

Alexei Navalny died suddenly at a Russian penal colony on 16 February. Ms Navalnaya has blamed Mr Putin for his death.
