A bear briefly chased the mascot for pro hockey's Seattle Kraken in a furry faceoff before the grizzly goon let the sea troll skate away unharmed.
Buoy, the official costumed cheerleader of the NHL's relatively new franchise in Seattle, and Kraken forward John Hayden were spreading their team's goodwill in Alaska and doing some fishing in Katmai National Park.
That's when the ferocious mammal appeared to go on the attack, forcing Buoy, Hayden and their line mates to clear the zone.
"While we were fishing, we got a couple close calls with a couple of bears," Hayden said.
The growling bear took several aggressive steps toward Buoy but then dumped the chase.
