Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was ruled out of his team's matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday after he sustained a concussion.

With 9:52 left in the first quarter, Hurts scrambled left for 13 yards before he was tackled by Washington linebackers Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner. He got up gingerly and went to the blue tent to be examined for a possible concussion.

Hurts was replaced by quarterback Kenny Pickett, who subsequently threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to receiver A.J. Brown.

Late in the second quarter, the Eagles declared Hurts done for the day.

The Commanders won the game 36-33 thanks to five touchdown passes from Jayden Daniels. Pickett finished 14-for-24 passing for 143 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
