Black Wall Street is looking for International and Local Language Translators. Our organization has introduced a new Economic System called Compassionate Capitalism which combines empathy-driven innovations with the Trap and Reinvest philosophy of the first Black Wall Street Community which was destroyed 100 years ago this year.

Job Summary. We are looking for Translators to interpret written and audio pieces in French, Swahili, Amharic, Portuguese and Arabic, making sure to maintain their original meaning, format, and tone. The ideal person for this position should have the capacity to thoroughly read and understand the context of given material, using specialized dictionaries and translation tools and proofreading finished pieces of work. To be successful in this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and be fluent in at least two languages in addition to your native language. Ultimately, you will provide ready-to-use translated content that meets our internal needs and helps us reach a broader audience.

Responsibilities:

• Read given material and research industry-specific terminology
• Convert text and audio recordings from one language to one or more others.
• Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone.
• Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations.
• Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of translation.
• Use proofreading software for various languages to check translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.
• Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs.
• Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)
• Network with field experts to stay current on new translation tools and practices.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar role.
• Fluency in English and any other two of the following, Arabic, Amharic, Swahili, Portuguese and French languages in addition to your native language.
• Proficiency in the use of proofreading software applications.
• Good knowledge of content editing tools.
• Familiarity with translation software.
• Excellent time management skill.
• BSc in Translation, Interpreting or similar field.
• Additional certification in Linguistics is a plus.

Salary: UGX500,000 plus lunch.
