CloseRescue efforts are underway in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state after floods and landslides killed at least 100 people.

More than 160,000 people have been displaced by the floods, with some municipalities completely destroyed by floodwater.

Pictures emerged on Wednesday of a horse stranded on a rooftop amidst the floodwater in the city of Canoas. The city's mayor told GloboNews that they were hoping to rescue the horse with the help of a helicopter.

The international airport in the state's capital, Porto Alegre, has had its runways completely flooded and will be shut down until further notice. Beira-Rio stadium and Arena do Grêmio football stadium have also been affected by the floods.
